    Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen11, very slow file IO

    Dear forum

    I have a carbon X1 gen 11 laptop. The fileio as reported by sysbench (and painfully experienced by me) is very slow running Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS and the kernel 6.5.0-1020-oem

    Please have a look at the sysbench report, using a 20G file test:

    sysbench fileio --file-total-size=20G --file-test-mode=rndrw --time=300 run
    sysbench 1.0.20 (using system LuaJIT 2.1.0-beta3)

    Running the test with following options:
    Number of threads: 1
    Initializing random number generator from current time


    Extra file open flags: (none)
    128 files, 160MiB each
    20GiB total file size
    Block size 16KiB

    Read/Write ratio for combined random IO test: 1.50
    Periodic FSYNC enabled, calling fsync() each 100 requests.

    I guess the SSD drivers are not optimal? Any ideas/experiences to share? Thank you

    I use other utilities to benchmark my system/disk I/O...

    Before I discuss that... That model cam with either SSD of M.2... What is the results of this, the output reposted within CODE Tags:

    This is what I use for my I/O benchmarks...

    I check my current I/O at rest to see if there are any current processes that are affecting my I/O, that would twart my results:

    iostat -x -t -d 2 10 > disk_io_report.txt &
    iotop -P -a
    If there is any that is stealing I/O in appropriately, I end it, so I can check out what the underlying I/O stats are for my benchmarks...

    To do that, I navigate to a folder in my filesystem, where it is the drive I want to check, then:

    For completeness:

    1) I have tlp running but only options are:

    START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0=50
    STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0=80
    and my system is in performance profile

    2) Running sysbench in an older Thnkpad Lenovo Gen 9 gave 27 MiB/s read and 18 MiB/s write in sysbench, which is ~x3 faster than my Gen11
