yahoo blocking pidgin ?

This is what it says. I am using Jaunty

echo deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-developers/ppa/ubuntu \ `lsb_release --short --codename` main | \
sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.list

sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.list

Remove the contents of "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.list" and replace with

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-developers/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Hardy here. Updated to 2.5.7 by adding the appropriate repository. Connecting via scs.msg.yahoo.com.

Everything seems to work EXCEPT when a user on my list logs off, my list still shows them as being online. I have to log-off Yahoo then log back in to refresh/keep the list current.

Anyone else having this issue?

I think it's a bug. It's happening to me too on both Ubuntu and openSUSE.

I was having this problem again last night, so I just changed the server I was using. Instead of:

scs.msg.yahoo.com

I'm using:

cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com

No more problems since the switch.

I was having this problem again last night, so I just changed the server I was using. Instead of:

this was the simplest and only working solution ive come across.

All of the problems I was having have been resolved by updating to Pidgin 2.5.8.
