See https://bugs.launchpad.net/awn/+bug/218603 for a discussion about a related issue with Skype.
The taskmanager does not show any task when skype is minimized to the notification area because...
A couple quick notes.
Separate launcher for various OOo windows _should_ be working if one uses the awn-testing ppa with the caveat that atm you will probably need an english locale. It appears...
It's not related to awn-notification-daemon / notify-osd, which appears to be what you're referring to above.
From the screenshot it appears that rhythmbox itself is opening those windows, I...
It can be done with Kwin but not with compiz.
I believe that it is being worked on in compiz - don't know how much progress has been made on that though. The problem with minimized previews is...
Well the result from that console command indicates that the compiz KDE compatibility module is _not_ working. It is a compiz issue not a dockbarx issue.
Then I'd agree with M7S... it's a compiz issue. As was mentioned at the beginning of the thread make sure "KDE Compatibility" is active in CCSM. If it is checked and you're still getting that...
It might be worthwhile running
xprop -root | grep KDE
from a terminal you should get output of
KDE_WINDOW_PREVIEW(_KDE_WINDOW_PREVIEW) = 0x0
If not then that's a good indication that...
Try setting the StartupWMClass field value in the custom desktop file(s). http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html
You can determine the value you want by running...
Drag and drop the icon you want to use onto the applet (works for most of them)
Update your awn installation. I fixed it last night.
If you use the Preferences Applet in awn you can use that to drag the dock to the desired monitor and it will remember where it was placed.
Alternately if you use gconf you can manually edit...
Good to hear. In general awn devs do not recommend uninstall/reinstall as method of fixing configuration issues. Basically it doesn't really help and leads to issues like the missing "AwnClass"...
hmmm... yeah that's screwed up. My suggestion at this point.
1) start synaptic and remove all awn packages.
2) Install all the awn* and avant* packages listed at...
Start a terminal and run awn-settings then. I am fairly sure you will just need to add an applet and it will appear. Unless you've done something _very_ odd it's not possible to remove the last...
Start awn-settings... you should be able to just right click on that 50px region and choose dock preferences... though you can just start it from a terminal if need be.
It will allow you to...
To change the icon just drag and drop the icon you would like to use on the applet icon (this works for _most_ applets). Note that you need to use the context menu (right click) to change task...
Yes, it can be done but it is _unsupported_ at the moment. It cannot be done through the Preferences currently.
The relevant config keys are (you're probably using gconf so use gconf-editor):
...
Yeah, well we would probably consider what you describe as a bug :-) Though if you're using 3d/spotlight then you _might_ get that type of behaviour. My general feeling is that something is wrong...
Chances are that it's a specific applet. Try disabling them selectively and see if that's the case. If it a specific applet then please file a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/awn-extras . If...
0.3.9 does not allow customization of icons where it was unable to lookup a desktop file. This is a deliberate decision with the hope of identifying problem applications. Please report applications...
AFAIK, it only works with the awn rewrite branch. Might be an idea to ask at https://answers.launchpad.net/gnomenu
Not in the current stable release. It is available in 0.4 though.
Here's a screencast I did a couple months ago. http://moon-shiny.blogspot.com/2009/06/quick-screencast.html
Expect the new code to start hitting the awn-testing ppa within days.
I don't think there is any intent to use the ctrl key. I'll ask around to see if any of the other devs has such an intent.
I'm will nag some more applet devs into paying attention to the shared...
It's in the 0.4 branch. Which will be hitting the awn-testing ppa real soon now and will be seeing an official release within a couple months (if all goes well)
